NANS Nigerian students issue warning to presidential candidates

The student body has appealed to presidential candidates to avoid violence in during their campaigns.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) issues a warning to presidential candidates.

Daily Post reports that the National Public Relations Officer of NANS, Bestman Okereafor is calling on presidential candidates to avoid violence in during their campaigns.

In a statement issued on Monday, October 8, 2018, in Enugu state, he also advised security agencies to do better in order to maintain law and order during the electioneering period.

 

He said, "The leadership of the apex students' body, NANS, wishes to congratulate all political parties for the good, peaceful and fair conduct of their presidential primaries."

"NANS leadership is set to partner with the Independent National Electoral Commission and organized civil societies in the aspect of massive voters sensitization and enlightenment."

Okereafor concluded, "As a non-partisan but formidable body and major determinant of elections, we pray that Almighty God will give victory to a progressive-minded leader who will take us to the promise land."
